The California Highway Patrol needs your help in identifying and apprehending the driver of a hit and run accident Dec. 30, which closed Highway 41 for about 30 minutes.
According to the CHP, at about 5:15 p.m., the unknown party was operating a 2018 Ford F-150, traveling northbound on Highway 41 near Road 200, when the driver crossed a solid double yellow line, entering the southbound lane and sideswiping a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by Cody Bishop, 29, of Hanford.
The debris from the collision between the two trucks struck the 2012 Hyundai Sonata driven by Edgar Bacerra, 31, of Fresno, who had been following Bishop. Bacerra took evasive action, swerving onto the west shoulder, striking an embankment, with the vehicle finally coming to rest overturned on the highway.
Highway 41 was initially closed for about 30 minutes, with one-way traffic control in place for an additional 90 minutes as the scene was investigated and cleared.
Bacerra was transported to a Fresno Area hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the 2018 Ford F-150 fled the scene. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the CHP at (559) 658-6590.
