The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has asked for the public’s help to locate two alleged bank robbers who escaped with an undisclosed amount of money from Central Valley Community Bank in Oakhurst the afternoon of Jan. 6.

Sheriff reports busy week in Coarsegold

On Dec. 26 around 10:15 a.m., a resident of the North Fork area reported an area school was vandalized, as its windows were damaged by being shot out with a shotgun. Though no suspects were arrested, evidence was collected and the case was forwarded to detectives.

The Madera County Regional SWAT Team converged on a gated house on Big Sandy Drive off Road 417 in Coarsegold Tuesday morning with a search warrant for the residence of Daniel Lee Holt, 48.

Sex crime in Coarsegold: Madera County Sheriff’s Log, Nov. 28 - Dec. 4

On Dec. 1, deputies from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 43000 block of Running Deer Road in regards to a report of an adult committing a sex offense on a minor. An investigation was conducted, and a male suspect was identified, arrested, and booked into Madera County Jail on the charges. The case was turned over to the sheriff’s detective unit, and to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.

Vandalism outbreak in Mountain Area

On Nov. 21, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office responded to a string of burglary and vandalism incidents throughout the Mountain Area. Two burglaries were reported on Highway 41, followed by vandalism on Road 425A, and Oak Park Way, all of it in the span of four hours from 6-10 p.m., with no arrests made.
