Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp hopes to add cabins on about 27 acres of private land adjacent to Highway 41 near the resort.
The Mariposa County Planning Department is compiling a Draft Environmental Impact Review, and a couple of public hearings are tentatively scheduled for August, one Aug. 19 before the Mariposa County Planning Commission, and the second on Aug. 20 in Fish Camp, where public comments will be heard.
The property is currently zoned single family residential one acre, and must be rezoned to resort commercial.
The proposed project, by Delaware North which owns and operates Tenaya, consists of 54 cabins, clubhouse, outdoor entertainment area, and 88 parking spaces. These cabins will have electricity, telephone, cable television, sewer and potable water. A hot tub, swimming pool, outdoor deck and fire pit will be located near the clubhouse. Fire hydrants will be placed adjacent to the paved access road.
Once approved by the planning commission, the project goes before the board of supervisors for final approval.
If all goes as planned, construction could begin early next year, with the cabins open to the public by Sept. 2017.
