The Oakhurst Community College Center is extending its office hours to 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13 to accommodate students registering for fall classes. Enrollment at the center for the fall semester continues to be open to all new and returning students.
In addition, the center includes High School Enrichment opportunities for local high school juniors and seniors.
The Saturday Registration and KickStart Welcome event will provide the last day to register for fall classes before the semester starts and instruction begins on the following Monday, Aug. 15.
During the KickStart Welcome event, the center will offer:
☆ Free school supplies, handed out on a first come first serve basis
☆ Academic counseling, including course selection and class schedule planning
☆ Student ID photo and purchase
☆ Assessment testing
☆ Pre-order textbook delivery
☆ Fee payment
The Oakhurst Center staff will be ready to assist students as they register for classes and help start their semester off right.
Students are encouraged to complete the application and orientation online prior to visiting the campus. These online services can be accessed by going to www.oakhurstcenter.com and clicking on “Apply Online” and / or “Oakhurst - Reedley College Online Orientation” on the homepage.
For fall, the Oakhurst Community College Center offers a mix of day, evening and online classes: English, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Math, History, Political Science, Art, Psychology, Information Systems, Natural Resources, Child Development, Business Administration, Nutrition, Health, Communications, Criminology, Physical Education, Work Experience, and Spanish.
In order to accommodate students registering for fall classes the Oakhurst College Center office is currently open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
However, beginning Aug. 15, the office will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Fridays.
The College Center is located off Highway 41 on Civic Circle Drive behind the Rite Aid store. Classes are affordable at $46 a unit with an $11 health fee.
