State Center Community College District is looking for volunteers to be representatives on the Measure C Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.
Measure C is the $485 million bond that voters approved to improve facilities in the State Center Community College District, including construction of a permanent Oakhurst campus.
As part of Measure C, $25 million has been promised to go towards construction of a permanent Oakhurst campus, district officials said, in order to replace its seven portable buildings on 2.7 acres at Crane Valley Road (426) and Civic Lane.
To qualify to be a member of the committee, you must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following California law requirements which include these categories: Student enrolled and active in a community college support group, such as student government; business community located in the district; senior citizens’ organization; bona-fide taxpayers’ organization; support organization for the district, such as the SCCC Foundation; community at-large resident of the State Center Community College District.
Employees, vendors, contractors and consultants of the State Center Community College District are prohibited by law from being members of the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.
