Golden 1 Credit Union has announced the opening of the application period for its Community Grants Program, which will provide up to $50,000 in funding per non-profits for programs operating from July 2018 to June 2019.
Since its inception in 2014, the Golden 1 Community Grants Program has funded 40 non-profits in the Sacramento and Fresno regions, providing more than $2 million to support youth literacy and transition-age foster youth.
Past recipients in the Mountain Area who have received Golden 1 Community Grants include the North Fork and Oakhurst branch libraries in 2016.
The North Fork Library received $8,440 to purchase an early literacy station, an after school edge station and a Hi-Lo book collection.
The Oakhurst Library received $6,200 to assist with summer reading programs and to purchase two iPads and new children and teem books.
Also in 2016, CASA of Fresno and Madera counties received a grant for $16,170.
“Golden 1 Credit Union believes in investing in causes that create a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Vice President of Communications and Community Relations Erica Taylor. “Through the Golden 1 Community Grants Program, we have the opportunity to support organizations that provide programs to help meet critical needs of children and young adults in the Central Valley and Sacramento areas.”
The Community Grants Program will once again focus on funding programs that advance literacy initiatives and support transition-age foster youth and young adults.
Grant applications and guidelines are available at www.golden1.com/communitygrants.
The application period for proposals will end on Feb. 28. Golden 1 will notify all applicants about the final results in June 2018.
