The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received 64 calls during the week of Jan. 9-14. Below is a Mountain Area sampling of those calls.
☆Jan. 9: A deputy contacted three subjects at the request of the store clerk. Shortly after this contact, it was discovered that one of the subjects had an active felony warrant for her arrest. Two subjects were ultimately arrested and found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
☆Jan. 10: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Westlake Drive in regards to a report of a child being assaulted. Interviews were conducted, photos were taken and suspect was arrested and booked into custody at the Madera County Department of Corrections.
☆Jan. 10: Deputies were dispatched to a business on the 40000 block of Highway 41 in Oakhurst regarding a disturbance between a customer and an employee. The employee was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed dagger.
☆Jan. 12: Deputies were dispatched to the Oakhurst Park in regards to two females actively fighting. Deputies contacted both parties involved and an independent witness. The parties involved were a mother and her 13 year old daughter. The mother was arrested and booked for child endangerment. Case was forwarded to the Madera County DA for charges.
☆Jan. 12: Deputy dispatched to the 42000 block of Highway 41 regarding a burglary report. An investigation was conducted and scene was processed for evidence. A report to be closed at this time due to lack of leads.
☆Jan. 9: A deputy dispatched to the 46000 block of Veater Ranch Road in Coarsegold regarding a male subject with a knife. Report written, and case closed.
☆Jan. 11: A deputy took a report over the phone regarding a financial elder abuse case that occurred in the 31000 block of Blue Heron Way. Case was forwarded to detectives for follow up.
☆Jan. 12: A deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Lilley Mountain Drive regarding theft of a water heater from a residence. A report was taken for documentation.
☆Jan. 12: A deputy conducted a vehicle check in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in Coarsegold. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for possession of stolen property, violating a criminal protective order, and resisting arrest. The individual was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. The case was forwarded to the DA's office for charges.
☆Jan. 12: A deputy conducted a vehicle stop on Yosemite Springs Parkway and Spring Valley Ranch Road in Coarsegold. The driver of the vehicle bailed from the car and was not apprehended. The vehicle was towed. Further investigation was able to identify the driver of the vehicle. The case was forwarded to the DA's office for charges.
☆Jan. 13: A deputy responded to the 42000 block of Yosemite Springs Dr. for a report of a residential burglary. A report was generated and no evidence or suspects were located at this time.
☆Jan. 14: A deputy was dispatched to the 37000 block of Sundance Drive, regarding a report of trespassing. Vehicle and subject checks were performed. A no bail, extraditable, felony warrant from Colorado was discovered. The wanted person was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.
☆Jan. 14: A deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane, regarding a report of found property. A live rifle bullet was found at the business. The owner of the property could not be determined. The property was booked as found property for destruction. The case has been closed.
☆Jan. 9: A subject stop in North Fork lead to charges being requested for possession of a concealed dagger and possession of methamphetamine.
☆Jan. 10: Deputies were investigating a previous theft cases at a residence located within the 32000 block of Road 221. They found a large utility trailer at this location and determined the trailer was an unreported stolen vehicle. Deputy was assigned to meet the owner of the trailer to report the vehicle as stolen and recover the same vehicle. The vehicle was released to the victim. The case has been closed.
☆Jan. 12: A deputy responded to 32000 blk. of Road 222 for a report of a robbery. An investigation was conducted and a case number was generated and the case was closed.
☆Jan. 12: A deputy dispatched to the 40000 block of Road 600 regarding a theft case. An Investigation was conducted and scene was processed. Case should be closed at this time due to lack of leads.
