Madera County District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler has arranged to have key county staff available for meetings with Mountain Area residents to discuss issues in their community on Wednesday, June 1.
Brittany Dyer, Wheeler’s chief of staff, said such appointments, made on a monthly basis, have been held with positive feedback from the community.
Those interested can call the Madera County Planning Office to set up a meeting at 675-7821, ext. 3206, dialing 311 from any 559 phone line and asking for the office, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wheeler said staff from a variety of county departments can be available depending on issues specific to each resident, including their concerns or questions on road work, fire services, water projects, and much more.
In other District 5 news, a hazardous waste event will be held at Yosemite High School June 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., allowing for free, safe removal of everything from motor oil to syringes. Call (559) 675-7811 for information.
Wheeler’s next town hall is scheduled for June 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the North Fork Rancheria Community Center.
He also encourages the public to look into the California Road Charge Pilot Program by visiting www.dot.ca.gov/road_charge/.
