The Madera County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday evening that annual boating registration stickers are now available at Bass Lake businesses, instead of on the Sheriff’s “island” in the lake as done in previous years.
Stickers are available at Bass Lake Water Sports (559) 642-3200, The Forks Resort (559) 642-3737, and Miller's Landing Resort (559) 642-3633.
Vessels up to 35 horsepower are $32, 36-250 horsepower is $50, and any over 251 horsepower are $63. Personal water craft, such as a Jet Ski, are $50.
Sheriff Jay Varney said this will be a much more convenient way for boaters to pick up their registration.
“This new procedure will be more convenient for the boating public and will also save taxpayer funds since Sheriff’s personnel will no longer be needed to issue the registration stickers,” Varney said.
Deputy Amy Roussell will oversee Bass Lake Patrol Operation this year. She had worked patrol assignments during four previous boating seasons at Bass Lake, and will coordinate enforcement efforts both on the lake and its surrounding basin.
