Plans are underway to build a one-story, 9,100 square-foot Dollar General store in Coarsegold on the northeast corner of Highway 41 and Road 417.
The developer of the project, Embree Asset Group of Phoenix, will ask the Madera County Planning Commission for approval to amend a conditional use permit to allow the store at a public hearing at 6 p.m., March 1, at the county government center in Madera.
John Shields of the Embree Group will represent property owners Henri and Maria G. Camin at the hearing.
A draft Mitigated Negative Declaration (MNG) has been prepared concerning the proposed project in compliance with provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The 1.2 acre property is zoned Planned Development District (PDD).
The declaration and the “Initial Study” is available for public review at the Madera County Community and Economic Development, Planning Division, third floor, 200 W. 4th Street, Madera. The “Initial Study” can also be seen at the Oakhurst Branch Library, 49044 Civic Circle.
Written comments concerning this proposed project and the draft Mitigated Negative Declaration may be submitted to the planning commission until Feb. 24, which will be the end of a 21-day review period.
