Installation and awards dinners are scheduled for the Oakhurst and Coarsegold chambers of commerce in January, and a new 2016 board of directors has been named for the county visitor’s bureau, headquartered in Oakhurst.
Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce
The 2016 Board of Directors and officers of the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce are:
* Officers: President Don Eaves (Yosemite Bank), President Elect Betty Linn (Sierra Star), Secretary Melanie Barker (YGAOR), Treasurer Andrew Pence (W. J. Bradley Mortgage), and Past President Dan Rule (Sierra Tel).
The board recommended the following nominees as prospective board members to fill a new two-year term:
Mike DeVito (Pacific Pectin), Shelle Abbott (Central Valley Community Bank), Brian Negley (Oakhurst Sierra Rotary), Darin Soukup (Oakhurst Community College Center), and Christian Mueller (The Redwoods in Yosemite).
The installation dinner will be held Jan. 15 at the Bass Lake Convention Center, catered by Ducey’s on the Lake. Dinner is $45 a person, and reservations must be made by Jan. 8.

Coarsegold Chamber of Commerce
The Coarsegold Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual installation dinner with cocktails at 5 p.m., and dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Yosemite Lakes Park.
The 2016 chamber officers are President Laura Young, Vice-President Diane Boland, Secretary Dave Wolin, and Treasurer Deniece Busse; and directors Janet Stanovich, Chrissy Buckles, and Marty Owen.
Speakers will be Madera County Sheriff Jay Varney, Madera County District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler, and outgoing president Wolin.
Entertainment will be provided by comedian Danny Minch.
Attendees will select from four gourmet entrees by Chef David Pol. Awards will be given out to a variety of area businesses and invidiuals, and there will also be door prizes.
Tickets are $25 per person.

Visit Yosemite/Madera County (formerly Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau) board of directors and executive officers have been determined, and they will take their board seats Jan. 21:
President Michelle Miller; Vice President Bill Putnam; Secretary/Treasurer Betty Linn; and Past President Max Stauffer.
The Board of Directors consist of: Merylyn Whited, Casey Hawkins, Steve Welch, Deanna Alexander, Nick Patel, Supervisor Tom Wheeler, Supervisor Brett Frazier, Denise Tolmie, Scott Gediman, and Executive Director Rhonda Salisbury.
