On Oct. 4, Oakhurst Adventist Christian School held a walkathon to raise funds for new playground equipment, field trips and classroom technology. The students invited their families and community friends to join them in their one hour walk-a-thon, lunch and Book Fair. Good ol’ Things provided prizes for every child who participated, and several raffle prizes were awarded to attendees.
OACS was established in 1940, and this year they are celebrating 75 years of Christian education in Oakhurst.
“I am very proud to be a part of this school, and so thankful my children are able to receive a Bible-based christian education. It’s thrilling to see students from several different denominational backgrounds come together for an exceptional education experience. Our teachers are certified, we are accredited, and each year we continue to grow,” Stacey Krause, PTO leader, said. “We are so blessed to live in such a caring and supportive community.”
