Princesses-in-training learned the proper way to look, act (etiquette, manners) and the traits any princess worth her weight in gold must possess - honesty, loyalty, respectful and hardworking. There was story time with Rapunzel, water games with Little Mermaid Ariel and Prince Eric, along with lessons on respect, bravery and faith.
For three days last week, Jessalyn Talley, owner of Simpli Charmed Princess, offered Princess Camp to 11 girls, ages 3-11.
While there were fun activities and princesses galore (Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel), the pièce de résistance came when all the young girls dressed as princesses, with perfect hair and make-up ... just in the nick of time for the coronation and farewell ball.
“Camp was such a huge success,” Talley said. “It turned out way better than I had hoped, and the best part was the smiles on parents’ faces when they dropped off and picked up their ‘princesses.’ They looked so happy, and I could tell what I was offering was important to them.”
While make-up could be simply wiped off and streaks of colored hair chalk quickly washed out, what couldn’t be removed so easily were the ear-to-ear grins of the “little princesses,” and all the magical moments they would surely share upon their return home to their private little “kingdoms.”
