On the morning of Tuesday, March 3, deputies were dispatched to a burglar alarm at Yosemite Jewelry in Oakhurst. When the first deputy arrived, he found that the front glass door had been broken and numerous items of jewelry had been stolen.
Later in the day, deputies stopped a U-Haul truck in Oakhurst and found the driver, Christopher Nunn, to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe as well as numerous items of stolen property. The stolen property included items from Yosemite Jewelry, Yosemite Bicycle, and the Verizon store in Oakhurst, Tractor Supply Company in Madera, and a car burglarized at Madera Community Hospital.
Nunn was also discovered to be out on bail from a Fresno Police Department case where he had been arrested for being in possession of a stolen motorcycle taken from Madera Honda. Nunn was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for possessing stolen property, first degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, committing a felony while out of bail, and possession of a methamphetamine pipe.
“This was an outstanding team effort by the personnel at the Oakhurst Substation,” Madera County Sheriff Jay Varney said.
