The 10th Annual “Grand Night for the Arts” will be held 6:30 - 9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Sierra Senior Center, 49111Cinder Lane.
Sponsored by the Vision Academy of the Arts, the event has raised $50,000 in the last five years for scholarships to Yosemite, Minarets, and Glacier High School graduating seniors. The organization has provided more than $150,000 in scholarships since 1995.
The Grand Night will include a no-host bar, Tri-tip sandwiches, Indian tacos, salads, desserts, and a silent and live auction with nearly 100 gifts and services to bid on. Auction items include art, music, and dance lessons, home and garden decor, and gift certificates for a variety of Mountain Area restaurants and services.
Ballons, at $10 each, will also be available. Historically, the value of what is inside many of the balloons is much more than $10.
A number of past scholarships will perform during the evening, as will dance and music students from throughout the Mountain Area.
Monika Moulin, Yosemite Unified School District trustee, will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening.
Tickets cost $25 per person, or $150 for eight.
Any individual or business who would like to donate, are asked to contact Sheila Adams, event chairperson.
