Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of the Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary School District, in the County of Madera, that a Special Election will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The following offices are scheduled to appear on that ballot:
The following are the filing periods associated with becoming a candidate for the offices listed above:
- February 9, 2015 to March 6, 2015 Nomination & Declaration of Candidacy Period
- March 7, 2015 to March 11, 2015 * Extended Nomination and Declaration of Candidacy Period
(Extends when Incumbent fails to file. Does not apply to office for which there is no Incumbent)
- April 6, 2015 to May 19, 2015 Write-in Candidacy Period
Interested candidates must obtain and file the required documentation to run for office from the County Clerk-Recorder, located at 200 W 4th Street, Madera California. The County Clerk-Recorder will issue and file documents during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, during each of the filing period listed above.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the day of the election. The boundaries of the voting precincts within the County, the location of the polling places and the names of the officers selected to conduct the election shall be determined by the Registrar of Voters of Madera County.
Pursuant to Elections Code Section 10515, if there is an insufficient number of nominees, the supervising authority shall make appointments.
The elections official shall make a copy of the materials submitted available for public examination in her office for a period of 10 calendar days immediately following the filing deadline for the submission of those documents. Any person may obtain a copy of the materials from the elections official. The elections official may charge a fee to any person obtaining a copy of the material. The fee may not exceed the actual cost incurred by the elections official in providing the copy.
