For the third year, American Assosciation of University Women members will be on hand at the Fossil Discovery Center in Chowchilla, located at 19450 Ave 21 ½, SR 99 exit 164, to help school age girls get extra enjoyment out of their National Fossil Day visit.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the AAUW will pay the Fossil Discovery Center’s entrance fee for any Madera school-age girl and her chaperone while supplies last. During their visit middle-school age girls will also be invited to learn about “Tech Trek,” a scholarship program sponsored by the Madera branch of AAUW to send girls entering the eighth-grade to a science and technology camp hosted by California State University of Fresno.
No reservations are required for Saturday’s program. For more information visit AAUW Madera on Facebook.
