The 8th Annual Bass Lake Home Tour will take place 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14.
Self-guided tours will begin in The Pines Village at Bass Lake beside the Bass Lake Realty office. The Lions Club will prepare and serve lunch, included in the price, for tour participants from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
A special addition to this year’s tour is the home of Lion Club member Ed Koehler and Peg Sullivan. They enlisted the help of architect Michael Karby and builders Leo Miner and Mike Welborn to create a modern 3,650 square foot, tri-level, energy efficient home. Entering the two-story-high great room is an experience of light and air. At the end of the built-in buffet and between the sunken living room and dining area stands the amazing Australian “Eco-Smart” ethanolburning fireplace. Above are sugar pine beams and bent-wood fans.
Purposefully designed to be low maintenance, the fire-safe exterior consists of HardiPlank shingles, Eldorado Stone, stamped concrete, and stainless steel cable railing. Naturalized landscaping and cascading water walls create a pleasing area for relaxing and entertaining outdoors.
The Bass Lake Home Tour was proposed as a way for the Lions Club to continue funding its charitable activities. Proceeds from this year’s tour will benefit two deserving mountain area organizations: The Oakhurst Library and the Bass Lake School District/Yosemite Unified School District Band Program.
Advance tickets are $20 (adults only) and available from any Bass Lake Lions Club member, Bass Lake Realty office in The Pines Village, or at basslakehometour.com. Tickets are $25.00 per person on the day of the event.
The event is sponsored by the Bass Lake Lions Club in conjunction with Bass Lake Realty.
