Halloween treats far outweighed the tricks Saturday night. Just ask Cheyenne Barton, 7, who along with her family, passed out 12 pounds of candy at the Trunk-N-Treat event held at the Oakhurst Community College, attended by more than 300 trick-or-treaters.
At the mini haunted house, co-sponsored by the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce and Idea Print Work, 50 stuffed animals and Teddy bears were given out - all donated by the Mountain Bear Fan Club.
Halloween festivities were also held on Friday. Staff and clients at Social Vocational Services were in the Halloween spirit, with a haunted house, and “scary boxes” filled with vampire fingers, rats tails, dried tongues, worms, witches fingers, and brains.
No matter when the day was celebrated, all seemed to enjoy dressing up and playing the part to make for some good, old-fashioned trick-or-treating.
