On the morning of March 29, Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a student from North Fork Elementary School used social media to post a threat of a school shooting.
The student was identified and arrested for criminal threats. MCSO’s investigation determined that she did not have access to any guns or other weapons. She stated that she made the threat due to seeing other school shootings on social media and because she felt she was bullied at school. The investigation revealed that she acted alone.
The student has been booked at the Madera County Juvenile Hall.
MCSO would like to remind the public that threats of this nature are treated seriously and will not be tolerated.
