The Oakhurst Area Chamber, Yosemite Sierra Visitor Center, and U.S. Forest Service offices will hold an open house at its new location, 4-7 p.m., Dec. 16. A ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m. A barbecue tri-tip dinner will be prepared by Madera County District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler, and there will be a no host bar, and sweets.

Sugar Pine Christian Camp will hold Family Christmas on the Mountain, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Dec. 12. This no cost event will feature hay rides, visit with Santa, puppet show, cookie decorating, Christmas devotional, Red Rider BB Gun Range, and much more.

The Oakhurst Community College Center will hold an Extreme Registration, 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., Dec. 11, and 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Dec. 12. The one stop shop includes admissions, assessment, counseling, financial aid, and business services. New students are strongly encouraged to complete the online admission application prior to the event.
Community of Lights
The Grove Community of Lights event, with two acres of lights and decorations, is open for viewing nightly through December. Santa is there, Dec. 10-19, on Friday and Saturday nights, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
