A number of free services will be available at this year’s Oct. 24 Family Day Community Expo at the Oakhurst Community Center, including Lions Club eye exams, massages, and an introduction to your family tree.
The event, sponsored by the Oakhurst Community Center board of directors, will be held from 9 a.m. - noon.
“Last year’s theme was get to know our volunteer community,” said Dottie Lee, president of the Oakhurst Community Center board, and chairperson of the event. “Those attending the event enjoyed seeing all the great Mountain Area organizations together at one event.”
This year, more than 20 organizations will be at the expo to provide community members information including:
* Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce
* California Highway Patrol

* Golden Chain Theatre
* Vision Academy of the Arts

Lee said this year’s event will focus on families, starting with a 7:30 - 11 a.m. pancake breakfast hosted by the Sierra Oakhurst Kiwanis Club.
Door prizes will be given out and a $100 cash drawing prize will be announced at noon.
“The community expo is not a fundraiser - it is a way for the community center to give back to the people of the Mountain Area and to the service clubs that use the center throughout the year,” Lee said. “Plan on bringing the family to breakfast and come to the free expo next door. You and your family will meet members of the many Mountain Area clubs and organizations that bring great opportunities and services to people of all ages.”
