Rock & Brews, a rock’n’roll-themed casual dining chain and the most recent business venture of Kiss frontmen Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, will open Monday in Vacaville, becoming the chain’s first Northern California location.
"This is the best day, the best moment of my life," said Courtney, a 28-year-old cancer patient who has a passion for puppies. Her friends and family, with an assist from the Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento, provided an emotional moment for Courtney when they surprised Courtney with a special visit from shelter puppies.
Shelby came to the shelter from a breeder with neurological symptoms that make it difficult for her to walk. The Sacramento SPCA is asking for donations to help pay for her care as the shelter gets her back on her feet.
Rowdy (A728947), a 10 year old male tabby, has "an affectionate and playful personality and will make someone a terrific cat," Bradshaw Animal Shelter says. His adoption fee is sponsored, so he's free to adopt. The clinic next to the shelter is offering free spay and neuter for county residents' cats all month long.
Cowboy came to the Bradshaw Animal Shelter as a stray in November. He was severely emaciated and couldn't even walk. But with care and encouragement, he has recovered and found a loving home of his own.
