  • Just Thinking

    Just thinking
    ...about flexibility.

The ability to be flexible, to change plans and directions frequently and easily, is a good thing and necessary in today's busy environment.

  • Just thinking
    ...about appreciation.

Recent events have made me realize, once again, how much we need to appreciate our emergency response people -- law enforcement, fire departments, ambulance and all the others who put their lives on the line in their best efforts to keep us safe.

  • Just thinking
    ...about our actions.

I wonder how often we stop to think about how our actions may impact other people.

  • Just thinking
    ...about not knowing.

I can't think of anything more frustrating and worrisome than not knowing what is going on or what has happened. The uncertainty puts our lives in limbo and keeps us from being able to move forward with other things in our lives.

  • Just thinking
    ...about perceptions.

I would think most of us, from time-to-time, make a quick judgment based on what we think is happening, or what we think are the facts. Many times these perceptions are not based on fact or reality, yet we tend to cling to those thoughts and base our actions on them.

  • Just thinking
    ...about changes in taste.

I think our tastes in food change through the years, but I was always skeptical when people said they could give up something they had previously enjoyed and not miss it.

  • Just thinking
    ...about beauty.

I am always struck this time of year with the beauty of the wildflowers. How lovely it is to see the acres of yellow, white and purple flowers as I drive to and from work. I feel so fortunate to be able to enjoy that beauty daily, and I am reminded of the loveliness that surrounds us all the time.

  • Just Thinking...
    ...about frustration.

I get extremely frustrated when I can't figure out how to do something. I feel inadequate, and I feel stupid and I don't think anyone likes to feel that way. When I'm really struggling with something that I don't understand, I just need to be left alone to work through it.
