Fresno man dies in solo vehicle accident

August 13, 2014

A man who died in a solo vehicle wreck on Highway 41 near Road 406, has been identified as 27-year old Edgar Farias of Fresno.

At approximately 11:35 p.m., Tuesday evening, Aug. 12, authorities received reports of a Dodge Ram pickup driving at reckless speeds of up to 110+ miles per hour as it was heading south on the highway.

According to the CHP report, the truck drifted off the roadway, colliding with ascending rock embankments before ricocheting across the southbound lane and then the northbound lane.

The vehicle then drove off the roadway, became airborne and flipped. Because Farias was not restrained, he was ejected from the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The use of alcohol and/or drugs is undetermined at this time.
