William (Bill) Theodore Wagner, a 38-year Oakhurst resident, died July 26, 2014 at the age of 84.
He was born March 24, 1930 in Los Angeles, to William and Louise Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was an associate pastor at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Reedley for five years, and did missionary work in Brazil for five years. He was a music teacher for Mountain Area elementary schools for about 14 years, retiring from the Bass Lake School District in 1996.
He was also involved in the Oakhurst Community Band, the Mountain Area Literary Council (as a tutor), and was an active member of the Living Way Foursquare Church.
Mr. Wagner is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marilyn, and his stepdaughter, Karen Hartman.
He is survived by his second wife of 29 years, Janet; children Peter of Florida, Matthew and wife Joyce of Fresno; Martha Wiens and husband Victor of B.C. Canada; Mark and wife Kimberly of Oakhurst; and Glenn Burton and wife Carolyn of Oklahoma; sister, Lois Redmond of Spokane, Wa.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Aug. 2, at the Mountain Christian Center in Oakhurst.
