Coarsegold man booked on suspicion of burglary

According to the Madera County Sheriff's Department, a Coarsegold man, accused of swiping a $28 bottle of Tequila, sits behinds bars as of Thursday, July 24, with bail set at $15,000.

Rainbow Borrego Reed Orozco, 25, was caught shoplifting by loss prevention officers in Oakhurst shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

According to Von’s security, the suspect became combative when confronted about the theft, and a scuffle ensued.

A 911 was made to the sheriff’s department and deputies responded to the scene, where Orozco was taken into custody without further incident.

Orozco was transported down the hill to Madera Country Department of Corrections where he was booked on suspicion of burglary.
