Yosemite High School graduate Sierra Dominici played in the 44th Annual City/County All-Star Basketball game June 25 at Buchanan High School. The City team won the game 93-87. Former Clovis High teammates Malerie Crenshaw and Samantha Earl led the scoring for the county with 22 and 21 points, respectively.
The County was led by Hanford's Brooke Johnson's 22 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals.
Dominici, who will play for Fresno City College in the fall, added six points, seven assists, five steals, and two rebounds on the night. A total of 10 players in the game have plans to play for Fresno City.
Sierra High's Mikayla Raley added eight points for the county.
Dominici's father, Steve, played in the 1985 City/County All Star Football Game, representing Madera High.
"I was honored to play in the game and had a lot of fun," Dominici said. "I can't wait to go to the next level and play at Fresno city in the fall."
The County coach was Paul Romig of Selma, who has taken his team to the Central Sequoia League championship and to the D-III valley finals the last two years. During his coaching career, he has won 10 league championships and has been named state Coach of the Year twice.
Dara Johnson of Hoover High, who led her team to the North Sequoia League championship for the sixth time this year, coached the city team.
In the boys game, the city defeated the County, 104-94.
