Yosemite Theater Live Performances

June 4, 2014

To celebrate the Yosemite Grant Act Anniversary, the Yosemite Theater in Yosemite Valley, will have special live performances starring Lee Stetson as John Muir and Alan Sutterfield as President Roosevelt.

The Tramp and the Roughrider “An Evening at Glacier Point” depicts the second of Muir and Roosevelt’s three nights together in Yosemite back in the early 1900s, with shows Friday, June 6, 13, 20 and 27.

The Tramp and the Roughrider “Last Night Camping at Bridalveil Meadow” reenacts Muir and Roosevelt’s last night together camping in Bridalveil Meadow, before Teddy went off to Sacramento to address the California legislators (they say his talk about Yosemite could have come from Muir’s lips, the message and memory of their time together being so fresh in his mind). Shows are Saturday June 7, 14, 21, and 28.

All shows are 7 p.m. at the Yosemite Theater, which is behind the Valley Visitor Center in Yosemite Valley. Prices are $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12, and free for children under age 4.
