Sports Briefs for 6/5/14 edition

Lauterbach will play in southern Regional

Yosemite High standout golfer Kevin Lauterbach traveled to Pasadena's Brookside Golf Club June 2 to compete amongst 124 of the top players from Fresno to the San Diego, in the CIF Southern Regional Men's Golf Championship.

Lauterbach was a four year varsity player at Yosemite and helped lead the team to the North Sequoia League Championship all four years. He was also the three time recipient of the NSL Most Valuable Player award.

The top nine finishers in the tournament advanced to the June 4 State Championship at the San Gabriel Country Club, and Lauterbach just missed the cut to advance to the state match.

City-County baseball game

Three plays form the Minerates Central Section D-VI championship baseball team have been selected to play in the City/County All Star baseball game, that will be played at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 9, at Fresno Chukchansi Park.

Mustangs selected to play on the county team are Sam Reyes, Conly Biglione, and Jordan Christian.
