Marian Jo Chulick died May 2, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born December 9, 1921 in St. Louis, Miss., to John Joseph Burns and Josephine Mabel Lomax McComas Burns Burrow.
In 1941 Mrs. Chulick married Alexander (Alex) Andrew Chulick Jr., and in June 1944, moved to California, first to Burbank and later (in 1990) to Oakhurst. She worked as a CNA at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, as a cashier at the Pickwick Drive-In Theater, and for Lockheed as a Tool Crib clerk. She also served as president of the De la Salle Women's Club at De la Salle Catholic Church in Granada Hills.
Her hobbies included community theater, decorating, maintaining a spotless home, and spending time with family. She was well versed in politics and loved the challenge of getting out her point of view.
Mrs. Chulick was preceded in death by her husband; son Kevin; brothers Art and George Burns; sister Grayce Bowling; daughter-in-law Deborah.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Baty and husband Joe, Jody Sectzer and Sheila; sons, Zan and Kelly; grandchildren Brigid and Brenda Baty, Carol Gavin, Crystal O'Neill, and Tamara Winchester; niece Judi Myatt; and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Chulick's life will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Carol Gavin's home in Canyon Country, California. An informal barbecue will be held following the memorial service.
