Home and Garden Fair

May 7, 2014

Some 50 vendors are expected to participate in the May 17 Oakhurst Home & Garden Fair in the parking lot of the Yosemite Gateway Board of Realtors in Oakhurst, adjacent to Sears.

“This is going to be a great fair and we invite the Mountain Area community to this family oriented event,” said event coordinator Karina Bulow-Brown of Yosemite Mortgage.

“There is going to be a lot of home and garden merchandise, useful home owner information, and free entertainment for the children including a bounce house sponsored by Hickox Roofing of Visalia, petting zoo, photo booth, and miniature horseback rides.”

Bulow-Brown said there will be some unique merchandise at the fair including custom made Murphy beds by Roger’s Carpentry of Oakhurst, homemade soaps and lotions from the Farm Girls of Madera, Mary D’s of Mariposa with wine barrel furniture, and hand-made wooden toys by KC Enterprises of Soulsbyville.

True Value Home Center will provide Home and Garden Fair special pricing for a variety of flowers and plants, as well as popcorn, games and prizes for children.

Cal Fire will bring a fire engine to the fair and will provide fire safety information.

Other businesses that will have booths at the fair include Central Sierra Pest Control, Carpet One, All Weather Roofing, and Collingsworth Construction.

Numerous real estate brokers will be at the fair along with loan and escrow companies.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be available throughout the day, provided by the Sierra Lions Club.

Parking and admission to the event are free.

The fair is sponsored by Sierra Tel and hosted by the Yosemite Gateway Association of Realtors.
