Campbell to play in all star game

May 6, 2014

Minarets senior Bo Campbell has been selected to play on the county team in the City-County Basketball Game June 21 at Fresno Christian High School.

Campbell and the Mustangs finished a disappointing season just missing the DV playoffs. Bo finishes his high school career as the most prolific player in Minarets short basketball history. He averaged close to 15 points and seven rebounds per game.

Campbell endured a difficult period in his sophomore season when his father was removed as Minarets head coach at midseason. Unlike most players in that situation, Campbell stayed "for my teammates" and led his team to the playoffs for two years.

Current head coach Paul Varner has the program on solid footing bringing unity and cohesiveness to the Mustang program. Campbell, who carries a 3.9 GPA, flourished his senior year under Varner closing out his last two games with 20+ points and 14 rebounds per game. He will continue his education in engineering at California State University, Fresno.
