Ebert Benjamin Bissett died April 18, 2014 at the age of 78. An Oakhurst resident for 25 years, he was born in La Grande on June 15, 1935.

Mr. Bissett worked at the Fresno Bee for many years, and then owned two muffler shops, in Tulare and later in Coalinga. After selling the business, he retired and sold shaved ice at the Highway 41 and 49 junction in Oakhurst.

He enjoyed driving his home-made 1955 Volkswagon or pick-up, dancing, reading.

Mr. Bissett is preceded in death by his parents Ebert LeRoy and Mary, and brother George.

He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Holladay and spouse Bryan, of Wonder Valley; Rosemary Jordan and spouse Carl Lee, of Dos Palos; and Denise of Clovis; and son Ebert and spouse DesCygnes, of Coalinga; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., June 15, 2014, at the home of Tommy Beall and Lori Bellefeuille, 48621 Eastwood Drive S., Oakhurst. RSVP to Denise Bissett, (559) 907-6070.
