On Wednesday, hosting at Sierra Meadows, YHS scored 189 points to second place Liberty High School's 151. Kerman came in third with 121 points.
Lauterbach led the way with an even par 36 and 46 points. It was Kevin's fourth tournament win and put him well ahead in the league MVP scoring. Ben Avena shot a 37 for 43 points.
John Cook, of Chowchilla shot a 38 for 41 points and Spencer Uzzell posted a 41 for 37 points and fourth place in the tournament. The strong showing by the Badgers has them well ahead in league standings and fairly certain to wrap up their third straight league championship this week at Sierra Meadows when they host the league's championship tournament.
In individual standings, YHS has the top four spots. Along with Kevin Lauterbach are Ryan Emerick, Ben Avena, and freshman Spencer Uzzell. YHS is looking toward May 5 where they will participate in the North Area Championship held at Riverside Golf Course in Fresno. A victory there would send the Badgers into the CIF Championship Tournament.
