The Mariposa Friends of the Fair Foundation announced that the 2014 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty Applications and Rules are now available for this year's contest.

The contest offers three divisions and is open to young ladies ranging in ages from 6 to 21 that are from Mariposa, Madera, Merced and Tuolumne counties.

The Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty represents young ladies who are not only passionate about Fair and Rodeo but embrace Mariposa's Western Rural Lifestyle as well.

The committee is hosting an introduction meeting for contestants on June 1 as well as clinics focusing on public speaking, poise and horsemanship that will be offered in June and July.

Through the summer, the contestants will hone their skills for the competition day on August 9. At the Gold Bowl arena all divisions will begin at 8 a.m. with Horsemanship, followed by the Queen contestants participating in a closed personal interviews, and ending with the Rodeo Royalty Dinner that evening in which all contestants will show off their modeling skills, answer impromptu questions, and the Queen contestants will each present a speech based on this year's fair theme of "Boots, Buckles and Barrels of Fun."
