Ryan Emerick shot an even par 36 for 45 points on April 9 at Eagle Springs Country Club to lead Yosemite golf to their fourth straight North Sequoia League tournament win. Emerick was two-under but bogied the final two holes and still beat teammates Ben Avena and Kevin Lauterbach by three strokes. Spencer Uzzell came in fourth for the Badgers.
Those four Badgers now rank one-two-three-four in league with Lauterbach holding a comfortable lead over Emerick for the NSL Most Valuable Player honor.
The strong showing by the Yosemite High team broke the 200 stroke barrier with 197 for the first time this season. Sierra scored 127 points, edging out Kerman for second place.
There are two remaining NSL tournaments plus the league championship tournament. Yosemite will play April 22 at Pheasant Run Country Club in Chowchilla. Yosemite will then host the league tournament on April 23 at Sierra Meadows country club and then play again at home April 30.
The 18-hole North Area Championship match will be held May 5 at Riverside Golf Course in Fresno. Yosemite is expected to qualify for the match tournament
On April 10, Yosemite beat Bullard and Fresno Christian at home. Lauterbach won the match with a 71. Charlie Chapman shot a 73 for Bullard.
