Fresno Flats will be alive with the sounds of Ragtime at the 14th annual Fresno Flats Ragtime and Vintage Music Festival, which will be held this weekend, April 11-13. With top notch performers, ready to raise the roof with toe-tapping melodies, this will be a weekend of joyful celebration.
This year's lineup features pianists like the fiery Tom Brier playing everything from the gems of the past to his own sensational compositions, duo performers Chris and Jack Bradshaw, known for their four-hand artistry, and Jack's fine solo performances. Larisa Migachyov will add grace and elegance to the mayhem provided by the others.
Adding the icing on the cake will be flute tootin' Julia Riley, new to the festival this year, who will grace us with some pretty fancy high notes. It doesn't get much better than this.
The festival will kick off Friday, April 11, with a dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert presented by the festival performers. Tickets are $10 for the full evening.
Saturday's concert will be held from 2 - 4:15 p.m., again featuring the festival performers. Tickets are $5.00 for the afternoon.
A no-host pizza party will follow the Saturday concert. This is an open piano "after-glow" set where everyone is invited to come and play. You just never know what combinations or pieces you can expect to hear but it is always fun.
The Friday and Saturday events will be held at the Cunningham School at Fresno Flats Historical Park, 49777 Road 427 (School Road), Oakhurst.
The weekend's finale concert will be held Sunday from 1 - 3:30 p.m. at the Oakhurst Lutheran Church, Road 426 (39255 Black Road). This afternoon concert is always a hit. Donations accepted.
