Happy and sad times

Guess what I heard?

I forgot to tell you about one of our locals with some serious moves. I went to the OCI Luau and they had fabulous entertainment — hula dancers from Fresno. The best part of the evening was while winding down, the hula dancers picked out local men from the audience. One of them singled out Brian Negley from Emadco, and boy did he have some moves. You'll have to get him to show you how he can shake that "booty" with the best of them.

Come on businesses, we need to be able to spend our Mountain Bucks everywhere. Ed and I have decided to give them as gifts but we want people to be able to shop all over town with them. If someone hasn't contacted you, call the chamber and get signed up. Take the initiative and get involved, the town needs you. While I'm on my soap box, we also need business owners at out Merchants Committee meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 a.m., in the chamber office. The chamber and this committee are trying to help area businesses but need your input, too.

Shirley Temple, who I was named after, passed last week. It's sad for me to say goodbye to a very special era.
