Squatters arrested for vehicle theft and meth

February 5, 2014

A mountain couple caught squatting on private property end up behind bars after the trailer they are staying in is discovered stolen.

Darrin Eugene Eidson, 43, of Oakhurst, and 44-year-old Susan Wright of Coarsegold, were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after a Deputy caught the pair trespassing on private property near Lewis Creek in Oakhurst.

Eidson reportedly admitted that the trailer might be stolen, but thought that probably wasn’t the case. When asked how he acquired it, he said he purchased it. When asked for how much, he said he and the seller were still negotiating price.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of Redondo Beach.

Wright was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and two bindles of Methamphetamine.

Both were transported to Madera County Department of Corrections.

Eidson was booked for possession of stolen property. He remains jailed with bail set at $10,000.00

Wright was booked for narcotics possession, with bail set at $1,000.00, which she posted shortly after booking. She is scheduled to appear in court February 25, 2014.
