Vision Academy of the Arts will host the Ninth Annual Grand Night for the Arts, at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Golden Chain Theatre.
The fundraiser benefits the organization's scholarship fund for graduating seniors from Mountain Area high schools who plan to continue their education in the arts. In addition, the fund provides "Star Awards" to up-and-coming students who have excelled in their efforts within the arts upon graduating eighth grade from Rivergold, Oak Creek, Coarsegold, and Wasuma elementary schools and Mountain Home School.
The evening features performances from both past scholarship recipients and 2014 applicants. In addition, attendees will have a chance to listen to these talented students' aspirations and successes within the arts between performances.
Scholarship funds will be raised through ticket sales, balloon raffles, and silent and live auctions. Prizes include a variety of merchant gift certificates, art and dance classes, dinners at area restaurants, and paintings by Mountain Area artists.
Area restaurants are providing appetizers, salads, dinner aperitifs and desserts. If local businesses or private individuals wish to participate in this part of the evening's festivities, please contact Sheila Adams at (559) 642-4329.
Sponsorships options include: Gift certificates to be used in the silent auction, or balloon raffles, one year business memberships ($100) which includes quarterly newsletters detailing classes in the arts sponsored by Vision Academy, a sponsorship of a child for the Summer Fine Arts Camps ($100), a full $1,000 student scholarship.
Tickets are $25 each, or tables of eight for $175.
Vision Academy is a non-profit organization, that to date has given 113 Mountain Area graduating seniors more than $125,000 in scholarships.
