O're the ramparts we watched

In My Opinion

editorial@sierrastar.comJanuary 14, 2014

It is the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen. Most events of 2013 have already been swept nicely under the rug in anticipation of a new and better year ahead.

Last year I used a considerable amount of words describing the socialistic train wreck being created by our current president and attempted to point out the blatant conflicts between his policies and our Constitution. I may have misjudged his motives and competency.

Wayne Allyn Root, author of "The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide," has a different perspective which requires some serious consideration. Mr. Root suggests that Barack Hussein Obama is a most successful fellow.

Our president has promised to "fundamentally transform America." During his first term, he ignored the fact that a small percentage of Americans, known as wealthy, were paying the majority of taxes while the vast majority of Americans paid little-to-none. His campaign to increase taxes on the wealthy, cloaked in the insipid lie of "pay your fair share." didn't fly too well. How was he going to bring the wealthy to their collective knees, drain the middle class of their American ingenuity, and provide enough to the lazy who support his policies? He lied. Period.

Enter a despicable Democratic congress which was willing to "pass this bill so we can see what's in it." And so we're told, in no uncertain terms, Obamacare is the law of the land.

There is no legislation more damaging to every facet of American principles than the Affordable Health Care Act. Its deadly tentacles reach into every business in the nation and rob them of the ability to succeed. It demands that each citizen purchase something they may not want at a price they probably can't afford or pay a penalty to the government for breaking the law. It increases taxation through the smoke screen of "health care" and it won't provide one single doctor, nurse, or medication for anyone.

It is simply government-enforced insurance premiums with increased power to our new IRS.

Are there people who will benefit from this law? Of course, at the overwhelming expense of our economic well-being and the further suppression of our liberty and freedom.

To understand Mr. Obama, look no further than the teachings of Marxist Saul Alinsky, and men like William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, and George Soros. Check out Dr. Quentin Yong, an early supporter of Senator Obama and promoter of Marxism and the government takeover of the health care system. Most of what Obama does is the direct opposite of what he says.

Anyone over the age of 26, (the age Obama says we are still 'health care challenged' children financially), with the cognitive ability to see what is transforming our country, can clearly see that we are more racially divided, economically divided, enjoy less privacy, freedom and liberty, are more disrespected internationally, have less buying power, less protection through the law, and have less information regarding our government's actions than we did five years ago.

Barack Hussein Obama is succeeding.

President Ronald Reagan once said, "It doesn't require expropriation or confiscation of private property or business to impose socialism on a people … The government can find some charge to bring against any concern it chooses to prosecute. Every businessman has his own tale of harassment. Somewhere a perversion has taken place. Our natural, inalienable rights are now considered to be a dispensation of government, and freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp as it is at this moment."

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man as their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America.

Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president." (Quote from a Czech Republic newspaper article in the Prager Zeitungon, 4/28/2010).

We patriots are on the ramparts and the bombs are indeed bursting in air.

Those who support the fundamental changing of America and the current president's socialistic agenda are what is reprehensible.
