James William Hamilton died on Dec. 31, 2013 at the age of 57.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Fresno on May 7, 1956 to parents Bill Hamilton and Jean Cook.
Mr. Hamilton was a well known cowboy and shod his first horse when he was 12 years old.
During high school Mr Hamilton worked for ranchers, shod horses, and trained colts. In 1975, he was awarded a scholarship to horse shoeing Farrier college, Cal Poly, San Luis Bishop, as well as a scholarship for poetry.
He married his wife, Sharron Hamilton on June 10, 1974.
Mr. Hamilton enjoyed anything having to do with horses and spent some of his free time on motorcycles, snow skiing and water skiing.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, two children Bo James Hamilton and Ty William Hamilton and his wife Casey Hamilton; his brother George Hamilton of Ahwahnee; and three sisters Sherri Freeman of Lemoore, Judy Gorman of Temecula and Christy Connell of Julian.
A Celebration of Jim's Life Potluck Dinner will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at the Blasingame Ranch, 19606 Auberry Road, Clovis.
