Oakhurst is gearing up for a fun-filled month. This Saturday, there are two events — a Sock Hop, 6-9 p.m., at the Yosemite Lakes Clubhouse, and Supervisor Tom Wheeler's big western shindig at the Oakhurst Community Center, which begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m.. Tickets are available at the door and I heard there will be entertainment and lots of fun, so how do you choose? Either way, you will have a great time.

Oh, I almost forgot about the Whiskey Tasting event at Roman's Bar on Jan. 21. You better call because seating is limited.

I'm so glad the Coarsegold Pharmacy opened and that they do compounding. I had to drive all the way to Fresno a few months ago and only one pharmacy down there did the compounding of the medicine I needed. Be thankful they are there if you need to have anything special done for you.

Have you noticed the new businesses we are acquiring in town? Have you checked outSkinLogix? The owner is Tammy Van Rossen and she has complete skin care and a massage therapist. . We now have Butterfly Kisszz, which offers one-of-a-kind necklaces at prices that will surprise you. Starbucks has a new neighbor. Robby Fleener has moved "Sugar Pine Pizza." It looks like he has expanded and will have more variety than before. He put a lot of work into the shop and it really looks sharp..

All Weather Roofing and Building Supply Co. has expanded their store and will have a showroom. This is owned by Nina Powell and Barry Shrewsbury. They carry insulation, roofing materials, dry wall installation, and redwood fixings. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Anyone need more insulation for the cold weather? I do…
