Christmas Outpouring

Letters to the Editor - 12/19/13 edition

December 17, 2013

Dear Editor,

For the past several years on Dec. 23, Rebecca Kohout has been heading the annual "Christmas Outpouring" dinner at the Oakhurst Community Center at from 3 - 7 p.m.

The dinner is free to whoever attends and last year upwards of 400 homemade dinners were served. Santa Claus is there and entertainment abounds.

This is a great event for everyone and those who might not otherwise have a Christmas feast, especially our seniors.

All the food is donated and workers also donate their time to cook and decorate the room to make this event so successful.

Sunrise Rotary has donated 32 full turkey dinners for the event and I challenge our community service clubs to step up to the plate and provide food, monetary donations or manpower for serving. Anyone who is willing to assist Rebecca, her family, and other volunteers, should call her at 313-9570.

God bless her for her time and efforts.

Dale Miller, Ahwahnee
