Boys and Girls Youth Basketball Registration

Sports Briefs for 12/12/13 edition of the Sierra Star

Boys and girls in grades K-8 can register for Youth Basketball at the Yosemite High School gym this Sunday. The program is sponsored by the Yosemite Basketball Association.

1 p.m.: Boys and girls in grades K-2; (lowered baskets).

2 p.m.: Boys and girls in grades 3-4.

3 p.m.: Boys and girls in grades 5-6.

4 p.m.: Boys and girls in grades 7-8.

Players should come dressed and ready to play as they will participate in a skills clinic and games during the hour. Full games started last Sunday and will continue every Sunday through February, except for the winter holiday break and Super Bowl Sunday.

There are no practices during the week and game times for the leagues will be the same as for registrations.

Travel teams may be organized if there is enough interest from players and parents in the league.

Players are to wear white t-shirts under their jerseys and shirts will be available for $5.

The registration fee is $40 per player and checks should be made out to YBA. Registration forms will be available at registration.

Yosemite Badgers alumni basketball games Dec. 22

The third annual Yosemite High School alumni basketball games will be played on Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Harry Baker Gymnasium.

The girls game will tip-off at 2:30 p.m. and the boys game will follow at 4 p.m.

Yosemite alumni basketball players interested in participating in the games, are asked to contact Gary Blate at (559) 760-3641,

Players are requested to make a $10 donation to participate.
