Wayne 'Scott' Kelley

Obituary for 12/12/13 edition of the Sierra Star

Wayne "Scott" Kelley died on December 5, 2013 at the age of 45. He was born September 28, 1968 in Apple Valley to Billie Jean and Robin H. Kelley.

Mr. Kelley moved to Mariposa with his family in 1974, and graduated from Mariposa High School in 1986. He joined the United States Army in 1987 and was promoted to Sergeant E-5 in May 1991. During his service, he became a Licensed Vocational Nurse specializing in trauma and intensive care. He received the Good Conduct Medal and Achievement Medal for Meritorious Service, and was Honorably Discharged in 1995.

Mr. Kelley returned to Mariposa, where he met and married Charlene Ann Olsen on May 20, 1995. After living in Visalia, Novato, and El Paso, Texas. Mr. Kelley and his family returned to Oakhurst in 2008.

He was a regular Manna House volunteer and enjoyed fixing just about anything, loved baking and growing his vegetable garden.

Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife of 18 years, Charlene, son, Charles; father Bill of Oakhurst, mother Robin of Rocklin; brothers, Doug and wife Debbie of Rocklin; David of Willets; Paul and wife Kim of Provo, Utah; sister Janetta of Vancouver, Wash., and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, at 11 a.m. at (LDS) Church of the Latter Day Saints in Oakhurst.
