Arson update

A trial date of Dec. 17 has been set for the couple who is suspected of arson in the Mountain Area.

Kenneth Jackson, 41, and Allison Waterman, 46, were arrested June 25, in connection to a rash of fires started in Yosemite Lakes Park and the surrounding areas.

Jackson is being held to answer on 21 counts of arson (20 counts of arson of wildlands and one count of arson of an inhabited structure), along with one count of battery on a peace officer, and one count of resisting arrest.

Waterman is being held to answer on 12 counts of arson including conspiracy to commit arson of wildlands of an inhabited area.

A review hearing was held Thursday, Nov. 14 to make a prognoses of where the case is and whether both sides are prepared and ready for the suggested trail dates.

Jackson and Waterman are being held on a $500,000 bail.
