Mustangs win title

The Minarets High volleyball team (25-3, 10-0) beat Caruthers (23-25, 25-9, 25-17, 25-14) and Parlier (25-5, 25-4, 25-14) last week to win the West Sequoia League championship with a perfect 10-0 record.

Against Caruthers, Hallie Grant recorded 13 kills, Taylor Meyer had 26 assists and two ace serves. Katie Grant had three blocks, and Carlee Boomer had 25 digs.

At Parlier, Leaders for that game were Katie Grant with eight kills, Meyer with 16 assists and five aces, along with Sadie Kubiak's five aces and five digs.

The team will now turn their focus on a repeat run at the D-V championship. The Mustangs played Tranquility (3-14, 1-7) Tuesday. Coach Jarra Zamora's team should breeze onto the second round which will be played today at 6 p.m. (Thursday) at Minarets.
