Sports Briefs for the 10/31/13 edition of the Sierra Star

The Badgers volleyball alumni game will be held at 6 p.m.. Nov. 2. Anyone who has played for YHS volleyball is welcome to play in the game. It's a game of young verses old and the old have won the game every year it has been held.

A volleyball clinic for 6th-8th grade girls will be held before the game from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The cost for the clinic is $5.

Club volleyball, for all girls ages 10-18, is starting soon and those interested should call coach Mazaira, (559) 683-4667. ext. 228.

YHS tennis team moves to semi-finals

The Yosemite High School girls tennis team beat Hoover High of Fresno 5-4 on Oct. 24.

Singles winners for the Badgers were Natalya Choin, Angie Du, Ally Alm, and Allie Boyer.

Doubles winners were Choin and Du.

The team played Div. III No. 1 seed Bakersfield Christian in the Central Section semi-final round yesterday (Wednesday). Scores were not available at press time.

Choin and Du, the top two players in the North Sequoia League, play Saturday at Buchanan High in the North Area Tennis Championship tournament.
